lovely idea... i thought it was brass!

i think the matt smith sonic should be all brass, with a wood base-grip,
and black leather mid-grip?

any thoughts?... anyone made a brass or bronze version?

Ummm, I like brass but on the Smith sonic I don't mind the contrast wit hthe aluminum parts and really, this sonic weighs a TON, lol. Some all brass sonics are just too damn heavy.

Well, I got this one straight from the manufacturer so-to-speak. ;) I keep saying though that he'd hake a fortune if he didn't limit his output quantities and sell them on the "interwebs". I still need to ask him some time if I could get the Stainless Steel model XD

Oh yes! This sonic was created using technical schematics made by the prop makers of the original. ^^

It's deadbolts that the sonic screwdriver is supposed to be useless against, isn't it?

well, that's a good question really. see, in the old days, what the sonic screwdriver couldn't unlock, the Doctor could simply use it as a "sonic lance" and would simply cut the lock off entirely. he did that in the episode "Robot". it seems the weakness of "Can't do wood" is just the new series, also, there's that whole "dead-lock-seal" which is also a new series weakness. i think they did that simply to make the sonic screwdriver less of a do all tool so the Doctor has to think his way out of problems more. that way the Sonic isn't always an easy way out for the writers. ^_^

I guess the 'being affected by certain hair-dryers' is solely a new series thing too, eh?

uhhhhh...yes. XD the older one...well, lets put it this way, it's like the difference between "analog" and "digital" you have pluses and minuses in both really. that's why i prefer the older models a bit more. it is hardware based and therefore not susceptible to outside interference, the new sonic has more features then the older one but seems to be more electronics based, so even though it can do more, it can be interrupted and jambed remotely...which is why the future sonic has red settings and dampers to block the incoming signals.

he also said the same thing in Silence in the Library but again, that's the newer model sonic screwdriver.

my point that the newer model, has a factory defect and can't be fixed since the place blew up and the doc is to lazy to back in time for a new one
